Mining and Minerals Education Foundation |
The Mining Club of the Southwest was started in 1971 and the Club’s Foundation was established in 1983 to allow for tax deductible contributions to be used for charitable and educational purposes. On December 5, 1983, the American Mining Hall of Fame was inaugurated to honor significant contributors to the industry and profession, to provide a forum for better public understanding of the industry, and to raise funds to endow charitable and educational activities of the Foundation. The Mining Foundation of the Southwest (MFSW) was incorporated in 1982 by merging the Club and the Foundation. In 2022, the MFSW changed its name to the Mining and Minerals Education Foundation to better reflect its focus and outreach.
